presented at this year's 'interieur 2012' biennale, the 'hub 01 mobile student housing terminal' focuses on three principles: mobility, private student housing,
and educational design. local firm dmvA together with office A3 re-envisioned the concept of living and studying, with a project that allows the alumni
to physically move their living unit and plug it into a central terminal. each permanent core, the receiver, would contain the common spaces such as the kitchen,
living room and bathrooms. the best choice for this concept of individualized portable units is to use the shipping container as the shell and its dimensions to
inform the proportions of all auxiliary structures. each house would also contain its own theme based on the inhabitant's character and needs. the ecological
box is covered in a green wall, while the passive living room is clad in solar panels and a wind turbine, and minimalist containers contain their own bathroom
and allow students more privacy for those who want to focus on school without distractions.
